Course objectives:

Introduction to using Arc GIS program.

Course manner: 

• Course duration is 24 hours spread across 12 days.
• Required manual and workbooks will be provided for the participants.
• By the end of the course participants will be certified with certifications approved by (Kurdistan Regional Government – Engineers Union – and View group Institute).
• Participants must have their own computers.
• The course is taught in the (Kurdish) language, it can also be taught in (Arabic or/and English) if required by the participants.
• Using (Arc GIS) in public services of local authorities.

• Spatial Reference.
• Geographic coordinate system.
• Projected coordinate system.
• How to choose a spatial reference.
• Exploring ArcGIS Desktop.
• ESRI data formats.
• Shape file. – Feature class.
• Step of creating layers for system.
• How to choose a represented geometry.
• Specify a data type.
• Editing in ArcMap (digitizing).
• Selection in ArcMap
• Symbology.
• Prepare a layout.
